In operation for 15 years
The original developer left years ago. Nobody dares to touch it anymore.
Modernisierungssprint — by Xares, based in Neuenstein
The Modernisation Sprint — migration in 7 days, fixed price agreed upfront, full code ownership for you.
Thousands of mid-sized companies in Germany run business-critical processes on Access or Excel.
The original developer left years ago. Nobody dares to touch it anymore.
Order processing, inventory, time tracking — all of it hangs on a single .accdb file.
Projects that run for months or years. Hourly rates that pile up. For SMEs, often simply not an option.
7 days. Fixed price. Code ownership.
AI-supported examination of your application, a structured report in plain language, signed off by you.
Data and business logic are moved into a modern web app, automatically tested against your original.
Trial run with your staff, handover with complete documentation.
What you have on day 7 depends on the complexity of your application. For a compact app: close to production-ready. For a complex app: a solid base for the next phase. Clarified upfront in the complexity check and defined in the contract. No surprises.
You are building a capability.
Source code, database, infrastructure — yours. On your cloud or on-premise. No vendor lock-in.
Training during the 7 days, modular coaching afterwards. Your team keeps developing with AI assistance — to production maturity and beyond.
Know-how, tools, tips and resources when you need them. No permanent consulting contract — support exactly when you actually need it.
“Like an architect for software: we deliver the building. You own it. Your people can keep building on it.”
What we already run today — and keep expanding.

The complexity check determines which tier fits your application.
Half a day to find out whether the approach fits your company: how software is built and extended today with AI support — tools, approach and the sovereign handling of your data, using your own application (including on our XaresAICoder platform). Not an implementation project, but the overview that lets you decide whether a sprint is the right next step.
Online via video call. Introductory price for dates through 31 Dec 2026. No obligation, no commitment.
One day, one concrete feature from your Access or Excel application: we build a working mini-proof and coach your people through it. You see what’s possible with your own real data.
Fully creditable if you book a sprint afterwards.

Xares has been around since 2018 and we are not going anywhere. But more importantly: from day 7 you have the full source code, the database and the infrastructure under your own control. Any other provider could continue developing your app. That is exactly what our model is built for. We do not sell lock-in.
A fixed price stays a fixed price. If we misjudge it, that is our risk. We can carry it because the complexity check tells us upfront, quite precisely, what we are dealing with. For very large apps we recommend either two consecutive sprints or an open discussion about the right approach.
By default in an EU cloud region we agree with you — typically Frankfurt or Nuremberg. During the sprint we work with anonymised test data, not your production data. Production data only moves into the new system at the final cutover, on your side.
No. We use enterprise plans in which training use is contractually excluded. For maximum security an on-premise variant with local models is possible — your data never leaves your premises.
Three options: we offer a maintenance contract (hours or flat rate), or one of your tech-minded staff joins the coaching, or we recommend a partner from our network for ongoing support.
Both are possible. Cloud hosting is the simplest option (EU region, typically Hetzner, IONOS or similar). We also do on-premise on your own hardware — more setup effort, but full data sovereignty.
Depending on its state, Excel is trickier than Access because its structure is looser. We analyse this in the complexity check and tell you honestly whether a sprint makes sense or whether another approach fits better.
